In addition players will be able to research new technology with the help of high-level engineers at the evolving fringe settlements of Colonia. "That's a place that's very special to lots of people," says Woods. "I know you guys have done a lot of really interesting things out there, and we've tried to support you where we can."

Colonia, Guardians and The Gnosis

Submitted by Unifex on

Back from Colonia.

I've heard of the Guardian sites and have been out to a few to check them out.  Getting ambushed by that first automated sentinel was mildly nerve racking. This may have been a highly advanced civilisation but their combat AI just isn't up to the task.  They're reasonably easy to deal to with the standard loadout on an SRV.

I found a few Guardian Tech brokers near Vargerson and purchased access to the Guardian FSD booster and a few weapons.

This process plugin was created due to a dodgy source repository.  Not all the files were available and the default file_copy plugin would crash and burn if the source was not there.  This plugin can be used in the process section of a Drupal 8 migration like this;

nacl_helper and stupidly high memory usage

Submitted by Unifex on

I was just diagnosing some memory issues and found that the nacl_helper in google chrome was chewing up 84.0G.  Some searching on this floated a hit from May 2016 that identified the Google Play Music extension as a potential source.  I use Google Play Music so disabled the extension.  The nacl_helper process was killed off immediately.  Google Play Music still runs in the browser without the extension so I'm going to just leave that disabled and see if I notice any differen

Drupal turns 17

Submitted by Unifex on

Just over 10 years ago I settled on a single content management system as the thing that I would use as the core of my development work.  At the time Drupal 4.6 was the bleeding edge and it was... okay.  It was the best of a fairly rough bunch. In fairness though, that opinion is from my current position with 20:20 hindsight.

Seventeen years ago today Dries released Drupal 1.0 under an open source licence and things have only gotten better since then.
