Why is my entity untranslatable?

Submitted by Unifex on

Drupal has pretty good multilingual support out of the box. It's also fairly easy to create new entities and just add translation support through the annotation. These things are well documented elsewhere and a quick search will reveal how to do that. That is not what this post is about. This post is about the UX around selecting which fields are translatable.

Where is drush?

Part of me is suspecting that I may be one of the lucky 10,000 today but I figure it's worth putting this out there because if I wasn't aware of this then there may be others too. It turns out that the version of Drush that you just installed may not be the version of Drush that executes your command.

Cho Yam Chan is a cowardly little man

So, as it turns out, the horrible landlords who have for all intents and purposes stolen the property of local artists by not letting anyone at all have access to PhotonFlux have decided that we were only allowed 8 people in the building and we only got one hour to get what we could. This isn't even vaguely reasonable. But, from everything I've heard about Cho Yam Chan and Julie-anne Daysh, this is not out of character. These people are genuinely despicable, untrustworthy people.

The speed of science

This was in response to KwadeTweeling on Minds.com.  Minds is one of the alternatives I'm testing to replace Google Plus. Anyway, it was a longer response so I figured it may be worth sharing here.

Regarding my quote "too many failures in the scientific community".

Thunderbird is awesome. For a desktop e-mail client. However, HTML e-mail is abused so much I consider it to be the bane of my day.

My experience of Google Plus

My experiences of G+ were very different than some I've seen described. So different that I had to wonder how these people were using it.

Active shooters in Christchurch

I look at the shit that happens around the world and am, for the most part, numbed to it.

I live in New Zealand. It's a tiny little bit of not quite paradise at the arse end of the planet that feels lucky if we get included on maps of the fucking world.

All this shit... It happens to "other people" that are "a long way away". It happens in countries that are fucked up due to their own internal issues.  Issues that spill over into other areas and other countries but, for the most part, issues that they have a had in in one way or another.

Chan/Daysh fail at public relations

Submitted by Unifex on

This morning a hand written note was posted next to the trespass notice in the door at 178 Victoria Street. What Julia-anne Daysh and Cho Yam Chan don't see to understand is that the damage was already done. They had illegally evicted their tenants. They had killed a local business. They had screwed over Anton and Nina, the other staff, local artists and local breweries.
