Elite Dangerous

Star One

Submitted by Unifex on

Star One is the closest point in the Milky Way to the Andromeda Galaxy. After about 20 jumponium injected jumps I arrived late last night.

Wandering out into the black...

Given the state of humanity right now, it's hard to decide if I just keep going or turn back and continue the journey around the rim.

Stuemeae KM-W c1-342 (Armstrong Landing)

Finding some things out in the black that I've not seen before... :) These have been designated "Void hearts". It is unclear what drives the internal reaction but there is an infrequent rather intense release of light and heat from them. It doesn't appear to come with any sort of concussive force which suggests a purely energetic reaction. No chemical residue to create a pressure wave.

Elite Dangerous update

Submitted by Unifex on

In addition players will be able to research new technology with the help of high-level engineers at the evolving fringe settlements of Colonia. "That's a place that's very special to lots of people," says Woods. "I know you guys have done a lot of really interesting things out there, and we've tried to support you where we can."

Colonia, Guardians and The Gnosis

Submitted by Unifex on

Back from Colonia.

I've heard of the Guardian sites and have been out to a few to check them out.  Getting ambushed by that first automated sentinel was mildly nerve racking. This may have been a highly advanced civilisation but their combat AI just isn't up to the task.  They're reasonably easy to deal to with the standard loadout on an SRV.

I found a few Guardian Tech brokers near Vargerson and purchased access to the Guardian FSD booster and a few weapons.

CCN PIN ship registry and the Parcel Tracker

Submitted by Unifex on

The Colonia Citizens Network have started a ship registry. The basic idea is that you register your CMDR, get a PIN, add your factions 2 character code (or IP if you are an Independent Pilot) and glue them together with a hyphen or single letter to represent your main activity. This becomes your Ship ID.

My year off is near its end

Submitted by Unifex on

Last year was bad. Losing Julian was one of the final straws. I pretty much checked out of everything for the year. Token activity on social media, barely looked at any code, no projects for friends, charity or pay. For the most part I let my inner misanthrope win and have had very little social contact at all.

I'm finding that I don't mind it either and I suspect this will continue for a bit longer.

Colonia, via the Bubble

Submitted by Unifex on

So, I'm back in the Bubble. Uncle Ed has been retrofitted for hauling and I have 255 units of Galactic Travel Guides on board.

Thanks to CMDR Frank Zetta and CMDR CombatSpace for taking on loading duties.  Much appreciated. It'd have been a very long load time without your help.

Tomorrow I'll be pointing my nose towards Colonia and heading out into the black.

The Formidine Rift and Browncoats in Colonia

Submitted by Unifex on

I've made it to the Formidine Rift location at Eafots LZ-H b10-0 and found an unofficial comms beacon. Scanning it doesn't reveal any extra information though. I've not finished scanning the entire system yet. Hopefully there's more to find.
